Holiday Preparations

We have been slowly decorating our house for a couple weeks now! I've been anxious to do so since the beginning of November--having a new house is so much fun!! We finally got the tree up last night and I'm hoping it doesn't end in disaster...between Liam, the cat, and the new puppy I'm not sure the tree will still be standing by Christmas!! :) I was especially anxious to put the stockings up this year as we have a fireplace to hang them from!!

Thankful!

Thinking back to this past week of Thanksgiving reminds me of how much we have to be thankful for!! Our family, friends, health, house, food, clothing, jobs....things many don't have. We are very blessed to have each other and our 2 beautiful, healthy children!! We praise God for all of these blessings each and every night!! I worked on Thanksgiving and Jason and the kids just hung around at home. Then on Friday evening we hosted dinner for Jason's parents and his brother and sister in law and their little girl. We had a wonderful night of food and conversation! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well! Take this time to thank God for all of the blessings in your life as well!!

Disney on Ice

Aynslee and I spent the afternoon at Disney on Ice...100 yrs of Magic!! She got all dressed up as Belle (from Beauty and the Beast)! She enjoyed the show and of course her favorite part was Belle and all of the other princesses! It was a fun show to watch and I think I enjoyed it as much as she did...if not more!!! :)

New Addition!

We added a new addition to our family this past week...a 8 1/2 week old spaniel/beagle mix!! We adopted him from the Atchison Humane Society. After much discussion we have named him Chip (after Chip in Beauty and the Beast--Aynslee's favorite movie)!! We didn't tell the kids we were getting him and Aynslee was very surprised and excited to find him waiting for her when she got home from school on Wed!! Liam still doesn't really know what to think of him! I forgot how much of a pain it is to potty train a puppy and the 1st few nights were not real restful but we think he will end up being a very good dog!!

Halloween Fun!!

Last Wednesday, Aynslee and I went to the pumpkin patch with her class. We had a lot of fun! Liams class was supposed to go the week before but it was cancelled due to the cold and rain. Then last Friday the kids started the morning off trick or treating at daddy's work then we went to their annual daycare parade! Both of them had class parties as well! For Halloween we went trick or treating around our neighborhood and we amazed at all of the kids around our streets!! This year Aynslee chose to be Belle (from Beauty and the Beast, which was a much better chose than her original choice of Hannah Montana!!) and Liam was a monkey!! Liam didn't really know what to think and was pretty quiet on Friday and on Halloween when he was in his costume. I don't have any pics of the 2 together on Halloween because Miss Aynslee hadn't had a nap and was quite grouchy! We were also quite sad that we didn't get to carve pumpkins this year because on Friday night somebody stole ours (except for my 2 big decorative ones out front of our house) and I couldn't find any the next day. I offered to let Aynslee use the last 2 we had but she decided she didn't really want to carve them anyhow (and dad was quite happy with this decision as he doesn't much care for doing it)!
